A fall full of fotos.

The past few months have been full of friendships and laughter. I wouldn't change this life for anything!

Coconut Oil.

Have you walked down the aisle with all the vegetable oil at Publix lately? (Or any grocery store- if you don't have Publix I am sorry that you are missing out on one of the most magical places ever.) Well now in addition to the 50 types of vegetable oil you can purchase you can also buy grapeseed oil, avocado oil, truffle oil, almond oil, peanut oil, coconut oil - and some other oils that I've already forgotten because I was so mesmerized by the fact that they have AVOCADO OIL! So what the heck is one to do with this plethora of oils? I have no idea. Cook with them I'm sure, but today I am going to tell you all about my favorite of the oils. The Coconut Oil. I've converted to Coconut oil for so many things and I wanted to share all it's glory with y'all! If you haven't jumped on the Coconut Oil train I suggest you try it out asap.

1. Teeth Whitening.
Heard of oil pulling? I was a little skeptical at first- it seems like one of those "trendy" health tips that everyone is over in a month's time--- but people of the blogger-verse I'm obsessed. I've been doing this for over a year now and let me tell you of the benefits. Whiter teeth is the best, but also, cleaner feeling teeth (I've heard folks say less cavities!), no funky morning breath, less sensitive to cold and sweets, and I cannot remember the last time I had a cold sore - directly related? No idea, but I'm thinking YES! When you first start Oil Pulling you'll feel like you have to gag- it gets better! Try 5 or 10 minutes until you can work your way up to the 20 minutes.

2. Face wash.
I have the most terrible skin. But I like to wash my face with coconut oil and baking soda. It leaves my face feeling so wonderful and helps with the oily/peeling factor.

3. Cooking.
I've replaced it in baked goods, when frying foods, and added it to smoothies- because are smoothies suppose to be a blended mess of all things "healthy?" I've melted it in sweet potatoes w/cinnamon and brushed it over my toast. I love the hint of coconut flavor and it makes me feel oh-so-healthy!

4. Shaving.
Yup, I shave my legs with this stuff. It leaves my legs ultra smooth and soft and reminds me of summer!

5. Psoriasis
I have the dread skin disease- and coconut oil soothes like no other! Now it hasn't really helped it go away completely, but it does give me some immediate relief when a patch of the ugly stuff shows up on my elbows.

I'm excited to try a few of these other uses too- Mixing with chia seeds for an all day energy boost, as a foot scrub when mixed with salt, and as an allergen relief. Use coconut oil yourself? Share tour favorite tips!
